Index Wealth Management Newsletter - May 2006

Welcome to this edition of our electronic newsletter. The newsletter is for Index Fund Advisors clients, prospective clients and professional connections; it will be posted conventionally for those who do not have or choose not to use electronic communication.

Our content this month are as follows:-

1. Les's Date with Royalty

On the 8th of May, Les was very honoured to be invited to the Council House in Birmingham to be presented to Princess Anne. The Princess Royal was recognising the essential work of Magistrates in the area and it was in this capacity that Les was attending.

Les has been a Magistrate now for six years and made Chair after only four years, which is unusually quick. He will shortly commence training as an Assessor, which will involve him in gauging the suitability of other Magistrates for promotion to Chair.

2. Welcome, Asha And Kay

We took the decision recently to strengthen our backup team and we are very pleased to announce two additions to our Para-planning staff.

Asha Patel joined us early in the month from Towry Law in Birmingham and Kay Lee left Personal Touch in Stafford to start with us on the 30th of May. Both ladies are highly qualified and intend to continue studying and we are delighted to have acquired their services.

You will no doubt be speaking to and meeting Kay and Asha over the coming months; the fact that they are both already successful in the investment industry and have joined us from two very high profile organisations is, we believe, indicative of our growing reputation and our commitment to provide the highest quality service to you, our Clients.

We intend to publish photographs of all members of the team in the coming months, so watch this space.

3. Books We Have Read

Like us, you may despair of the way your memory seems to be getting worse as you get older. Do you find yourself striving to recall things you used to remember easily? And I am sure we have all had the experience of arriving in a room only to wonder what we came in for!

Help is at hand. This month we are recommending Harry Lorayne's "Page a Minute Memory Book". Described on the cover as "a never fail system for remembering everything" the book is packed with tips for remembering everything from faces to shopping lists effortlessly. Most of the ideas are very simple, but very effective and the author does comment that there is no such thing as a bad memory, only an untrained one.

Even if you only learn one or two of the techniques you will soon be amazing friends and colleagues with your new improved memory.

The book is available from Amazon.co.uk and if you have any trouble obtaining it please contact jayne@indexfundadvisors.co.uk.

4. From the Press

Index has been in the news again and this month Noel has been quoted in She magazine and the attached article appeared in Investment Adviser, a Financial Times publication. Investment Adviser devoted a full page to Noel's analysis of structured products which, we are sure, you will find interesting reading.

5. Quote of the Month

"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."

Confucius (with thanks to Phil Hesketh of Philip Hesketh Ltd who brought this to our attention).
